Elevenist is a news recommendation tool—essentially a social RSS aggregator.

  • Once a user follows an RSS feed, they can then recommend articles from that feed by "bumping" an article—the equivalent of a Reddit or Digg upvote.

  • Users only get 11 bumps per day.

  • Users may follow other users, allowing them to see article recommendations from "friends".

  • Articles are ranked by total bumps, similar to Reddit or Digg.

  • All data only lasts 11 days, including bumps, naturally decaying older content.

EMOJIS

  • Bumped/shared articles do not present with thumbnails. Instead, users are prompted to select an emoji for the article. Any emoji.

  • Articles are thus categorized by the emoji selected by the first user to recommend the article, similar to blog tags.

  • The goal is to create a new semantic way of using emoji. Ideally, as users interact with the platform, specific emojis will take on specific meanings.

  • Elevenist is inspired by Discordianism and the idea that order can come from chaos
